The Effervescent Silence
“The Effervescent Silence” is the final expansion of A Series of Dusks.
The Effervescent Silence builds upon the base game mode by introducing new endings alongside the “Decisions” and “Tolls” mechanics, which require Timekeepers to make meaningful choices when selecting an area.
Additionally, a new type of artifact, “Counteractive”, has been added to counterbalance the effects of Tolls.
New Ending
Accessing the new ending does not require installing the expansion, but players must complete the ending “Wish Granted” first.
Craftmaster’s Favors
With the update, Craftmaster’s Favors will be introduced and do not require the expansion to be installed. At the end of an exploration, depending on the number of cleared areas (1/2/3/4/5), 2/3/4/6/8 Craftmaster’s Favors will be automatically consumed, granting the same number of Keepsakes.
”Decisions” and “Tolls”
With the expansion installed, area selection will show Decision Effects and Toll artifacts.
Each Decision Effect applies only to its respective area and disappears once you leave.
When making a Decision selection, Timekeepers may refresh once to reroll the available Decision effect and the Toll artefacts.
Upon entering an area, Timekeepers must select and obtain one of three pre-revealed Toll artefacts and bear its Toll.
Upon leaving the area, one of the remaining two Toll artefacts must also be chosen and obtained. Multiple Toll effects will continue to accumulate, even if they are the same effect.
By toggling the Toll display option in the top right, Timekeepers can switch between viewing an artefact’s base effects and the details of the Tolls.
While selecting a Toll artefact, refresh attempts can be used to change the artefact’s Toll effect—but not the artefact itself.
